African Musician
Koffi Olomide is a DR Congolese soukous singer, dancer, composer, and producer. He was born August 13, 1956 in Kisangani, Democratic Republic of Congo as Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba. He is known to have studied on Bordeaux, France to receive his Bachelors degree and University of Paris for his Masters. Koffi Olomide went back to Congo during the 1970's, joining Papa Wemba's band, Viva la Musica. He was the writer and composer of the group, then a lead-singer, before going solo and forming Quartier Latin in 1986. Koffi popularized a slower style of soukous that he named Tcha Tcho, his music sometimes known to be controversial and taboo. Currently, Koffi Olomide is known to be wealthy and intelligent. He also is married and has 7 children.
